Bali Officials have announced a travel ban during the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr celebration for the domestic tourists.
The Secretary of the Bali Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Made Rentin said that as a response to the Decree from the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force Number 13 Year 2021 about Travel Restrictions During the Eid Al-Fitr Celebration In 2021 to prevent Covid cases from surging, Rentin announced that domestic visitors are unable to gain access to the island from the 6th to 17th of May 2021.
“We will close our border for both arrivals and departures from the island.” Rentin said on Friday (9/4). But Rentin also explained that the policy has some exceptions for emergency situations such as sick family and funerals.”We will have some exceptions for the emergency situations and logistics, but they’re also required to show a permission letter from their origin area.” Rentin added.
Rentin also warned people to not even try to cross the border as it will be secured by officers for 24 hours. “According to the instructions from the central government, all means of public transportation will be closed from operating during the travel ban, so I urge everyone to comply with this policy. Otherwise they will be sanctioned by our officers for violating the regulation.” Made Rentin concluded.
