Bali’s most popular tourist destination right now, Canggu, is set to have its biggest summer season yet.
As the island continues to bounce back after the impacts of the pandemic, Canggu is preparing to celebrate its biggest high season since it became a trending travel destination.
Once a sleepy surfer town, over the course of the last seven years, Canggu has undergone a period of rapid tourism development. Now the island’s leading and most trendy traveler hangout, Canggu is looking set to experience its biggest summer season yet.
Travel search data revealed by Airbnb suggests that Kuta Utara was the number one trending destination for summer travel globally in the first quarter of 2023.
Kuta Utara, which translates to North Kuta, is the area of Bali that stretches from Seminyak’s Petitenget Beach to Canggu’s Berawa Beach and can be traced inland as far as Abianbase.
So, kinda confusingly, North Kuta doesn’t actually include a classic beach vacation destination, Kuta. With Airbnb’s data showing that Kuta Utara is one of the world’s most highly sought-after travel destinations, both Canggu and Seminyak can look forward to busy and bustling summer.
As a tourism destination, Seminyak is much more established than Canggu. There are new and exciting tourism ventures opening up all the time in Seminyak, but the area really underwent a development boom of its own a decade ago.
Super trendy and offering tourists the perfect mix of beachside hangouts and high-end nightlife, Seminyak offers a familiar middle ground for tourists seeking a classic Bali Beach vacation, Instagram-inspired party vibes, and really incredible dining experiences.
Canggu is really where the buzz is at right now in Bali. From holidaymakers to digital nomads and longer-term ex-pats, Canggu is a vibey hub of activity where people from all walks of life are being brought together to meet, mingle and have fun in the sun.
Whether it be luxury villas, impeccable surf, super trendy cafes, world-class gyms, or the plethora of independent boutique fashion brands, Canggu offers something for every kind of traveler, which is why it has so quickly become the life and soul of tourism in Bali.
Canggu offers world-class entrainment venues, nightlife beyond compare, and all those island life vibes that put Bali on the map. As well a high demand shown through Airbnb’s travel data, upcoming live events and music concerts is also set to draw massive crowds to Canggu this summer.
The beachside resort is home to some of the biggest and most famous beach clubs in the world. Potato Head, Finns Beach Club, and Atlas Beach Club all have a Kuta Utara postcode. The newly opened Atlas Beach Club is widely celebrated as being the biggest beach club on earth.
In August, Atlas Beach Club will be celebrating its one-year anniversary with a live set from non-other than Grammy-nominated Tyga.
The rap superstar will be gracing the main stage at Atlas Beach Club on Saturday 5th, August, and tickets are on sale now.
In what is set to be one of the biggest parties of the year, Atlas Beach Club is proud to be attracting international music legends to the Island of the Gods.
Speaking to reporters, Atlas Beach Club’s Director of Operations shared, “Atlas Beach Club’s first birthday party is a celebration of all the great moments we have shared with our guests throughout the year,”
He added, “We are so proud to be working with Tyga at Atlas Beach Club’s birthday celebration. We are confident that Tyga’s performances and energy will provide great entertainment to the audience.”
As a part of a national effort to establish Bali as a world-class destination for music, festivals, sports, and international conferences, travelers can start to imagine their favorite artists being booked to play on the island.
So far this year, Bali’s leading entertainment venues have already welcomed international superstars such as Jason Derulo, Diplo, Xavier Rudd, Rufus Du Sol, Sigrid, NeYo, and so many more.
