An official from the Bali Covid-19 Handling Task Force has announced that Bali’s partial lockdown status has been lowered as the number of Covid-positive cases keeps dropping.
The Secretary of the Bali Covid-19 Handling Task Force, I Made Rentin, confirmed that Bali’s partial lockdown status was lowered to level 2 for the next two weeks.
“Following the Ministry of Home Affairs’s Instruction Number 18/2022, we will officially lower Bali’s partial lockdown status from level 3 to level 2, from Tuesday (22/3) to April 4,” Rentin said on Tuesday.
Rentin explained that the number of new Covid-positive cases in Bali has become significantly lower than the recovery rate.
“We only had 76 new Covid-19 patients in the last 5 days, while 108 patients recovered over the same period. We only logged 1 death as of today,” Rentin added.
Rentin admitted that this achievement resulted from the booster vaccination program that was distributed rapidly in all Bali regions.
“Per our data as of March 21, 43.20 percent of Bali’s total population has received the Covid-19 vaccine booster. Denpasar, Tabanan, and Gianyar have distributed the booster shot to over 50 percent of their residents while the other regions have distributed the booster to at least 30 percent of their residents,” Rentin concluded.
