Bali Officials have confirmed that after more than one year of the Covid-19 pandemic, Bali has finally reduced the Covid-19 transmission significantly.
The Secretary of the Bali Covid-19 Handling Task Force, I Made Rentin said that all nine regions across the island were cleared from red zone areas. “Thankfully, we finally reduced the Covid transmissions on the island, and it was confirmed that Bali was cleared from have red zone areas as of Tuesday (20/4).” Made Rentin said on Wednesday (21/4).
He also explained that regions that were previously considered as red zone areas such as Badung, Denpasar and Tabanan have recently turned into orange zones because of a decrease in transmissions. However, Rentin still urges the people to keep complying with prevention protocols in order to prevent covid cases from surging again. Meanwhile, the central government has recently decided to extend the community based partial lockdown to 14 more days which started from the 20th of April to the 3rd of May 2021 with all the same rules implemented as the previous partial lockdown.
Other than that, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force has recently decided to extend the internal travel ban on the upcoming holiday season for an additional two weeks. As The Bali Sun previously reported the central government previously planned to implement the travel ban that starts from the 6th to the 17th of May 2021. But according to the last announcement, they have changed the policy to start the travel ban from the 22nd of April to the 24th of May 2021.
