Now Everyone Can Fly, If They Charter : AirAsia Indonesia Deploying Idle Armada to Serve Cargo and Passenger Charters

AirAsia Indonesia is offering charter flights to assist in the repatriation of both Indonesian and foreigners stranded by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, provide cargo services, and give logistical support to the Indonesian nation. As reported by Tribun-Bali.com, AirAsia Indonesia is positioning its air charters, cargo charters, and private charter services as forms of “humanitarian support” and business-community support at a critical juncture in human history.

The CEO of AirAsia Indonesia, Veranita Yosephine Sinaga, said via a written announcement on Monday, 06 April 2020, “This effort is being undertaken to support the Government and help the wheels of the economy keep spinning during the current crisis.” The Airline CEO said the COVID-19 Pandemic had sparked a need for logistical services, one of which is the delivery of medical supplies. She continued, saying the to maintain supply chains, her company was utilizing AirAsia’s connectivity, and its vast fleet to ensure supplies continue to flow to areas very much in need of critical necessities.

Continuing, Veranita said, “We hope that this service can reach every sector of the economy impacted (by the crisis) and assist those involved in humanitarian missions, allowing everyone to reunite with their families again”. AirAsia Indonesia is using its fleet of Airbus A320-200 aircraft with seating capacities for 180 passengers and cargo space for 17 tons to meet demands for cargo and passenger charters.
