International hotel provider RedDoorz has announced that it will develop more affordable hotel accommodations in Bali.
The announcement comes as travel trends show that travelers are favoring private villas over hotels for vacation accommodation on the island.
The RedDoorz Founder and CEO, Amit Saberwal, spoke to reporters in Bali this week; he said, “We hope to increase partners and continue to grow and continue investing in Bali.”
As a company, RedDoorz aggregates pre-existing hotel businesses, mostly in the budget hotel space, and offers partners staff training, access to the RedDoorz brand, booking systems, and supporting digital services.
RedDoorz already operates across Indonesia and other destinations in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, Singapore, and the Philippines.
RedDoorz has recently added 200 property partners to the Bali and Nusa Tenggara portfolio.
These accommodation properties include hotels and private villas and offer tourists a further 1,700 room options in the region.
By the end of December 2024, RedDoorz intends to have 270 property partners as part of the portfolio for Bali and Nusa Tenggara, increasing this to 400 properties by the end of 2025.
This initiative also complements Indonesia’s overall mission to promote Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara as a combined travel region.
The area that will be known as Bali Nusra is set to be marketed to international holidaymakers and travelers as a region for deep cultural immersion, ease of travel, and both luxurious and budget-friendly adventures.
Over the coming years, tourism developers in Bali will partner with tourism leaders in the provinces of West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara to level up tourism offerings to a world-class standard broadly available across Bali.
As travel trends show that tourists are increasingly interested in their villa accommodation, RedDoorz is also committing to ensuring they offer budget-friendly villa options for tourists across Indonesia, in addition to hotels.
Under the RedDoorz brand of Lavana, the company has partnered with 80 villa property providers, and there are hopes to increase this to 100 properties in the Bali and Lombok region by the end of the year. Sabwerwal confirmed, “Overall, we continue to invest millions of dollars in Indonesia.”
While budget-friendly accommodation provided by companies like RedDoorz will cater to a large portion of the Bali travel market, boutique and luxury travel continue to thrive in Bali.
Speaking to reporters in Bali this week, the Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council of the Association of Indonesian Hospitality Leaders (AHLI) Bali, Sang Putu Eka Pertama, confirmed that he and his teams are seeing tourists opt for more boutique hotel options when booking resort-based vacations.
Pertama explained “The trend of tourists staying in boutique hotels is getting busier after the Covid-19 pandemic.”
He noted that boutique hotels prioritize “personalized service, a family feeling and complete peace”, all criteria that are becoming increasingly important for Bali travellers.
According to Pertama, tourists increasingly choose a more spacious environment, a greener, more natural atmosphere, and accommodation options for staying overnight.
There are plenty of boutique hotel options in Bali, and while these independent hotels often have a luxury feel, they don’t always come with the price tag associated with luxury and exclusive travel; there are always good deals to be found!
Top boutique hotels in Bali in 2024 include The Slow in Canggu. Offering guests private villas surrounded by nature, decorated with minimalist charm and local Balinese styling, the whole hotel feels effortlessly chic.
Mathis Lodge in Amed is an underrated boutique hotel nestled into the rolling hills of East Bali.
Offering guests spectacular views of the sprawling Karangasem jungle and coast, private swimming pools, and exceptional service, tourists are always blown away by the magic of Mathis.
