“According to our data, there are 537 expats who have been staying mostly in the Sanur area and they have now received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.” Gede Rai said on Tuesday (15/6).

Gede Rai also said that some of the foreign nationals who joined the vaccination program have completed their second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Most of the expats who stay in Denpasar have been working in several different professions such as teachers and tourism workers. Gede Rai explained that most of them even voluntarily came to the hospital to receive the vaccine. “Some of them received the vaccine at the vaccination sites in the Sanur area, while the others went to the Wangaya Hospital to get it.” Gede Rai added.

Wangaya Hospital reported that they have been distributing the Covid-19 vaccine to foreign nationals who came to the hospital by themselves to avoid getting Covid-19 during their stay in Bali. Denpasar city government has also been communicating with some consulate generals of several different countries such as South Korea, Japan and India regarding Covid-19 vaccine distribution to their citizens in Bali. “Every expat is required to get permission from their Embassy before receiving the vaccine in Denpasar. Apart from that, we expect the vaccinated expats to promote that Bali will be a safe place to visit once the international travel corridor reopens.” Gede Rai concluded.
