Flight From Sydney Lands At Bali Airport For The First Time Since 2020

The Bali Ngurah Rai airport has received its first flight from Sydney, Australia since the Covid-19 pandemic struck in 2020.

The Head of the Bali Law and Human Rights Ministry, Jamaruli Manihuruk, confirmed that the Bali Ngurah Rai Airport finally received a flight from Sydney on Friday afternoon (4/3).

“The Sydney-Denpasar route by Garuda Airlines was finally restored on Friday afternoon. The flight carried both international and domestic passengers,” Jamaruli said on Friday.

Jamaruli explained that the plane carried 13 cabin crew and 61 passengers of different nationalities. There were 31 Australians, 27 Indonesians, 2 Kiwis and 1 Polish.

He was also optimistic that this would be the beginning of Bali’s economic recovery.

“With the resumption of international flights, I hope we can gain more trust from the international market as they become less reluctant to fly and travel to Bali. We will implement strict prevention protocols to revive the Bali tourism sector and economy as soon as possible,” Jamaruli concluded.
