The Denpasar Mayor, IGN Jaya Negara confirmed that the mobility of Denpasar residents has been reduced by 20% since the emergency partial lockdown was implemented in Bali. “People’s mobility in Denpasar city has been significantly reduced by this implementation, especially with the 8:00pm curfew policy.” Jaya Negara said on Wednesday (14/7).

Based on this achievement, Jaya Negara hopes that the central government could reconsider their plan to extend the emergency partial lockdown in Bali and Java that is supposed to end on July 20th 2021. “We hope and pray that Covid-19 transmissions can be handled well during this implementation, so that the central government will cancel their plan to extend this emergency partial lockdown for another several weeks.” Jaya Negara added.

Meanwhile the Spokesman of the Denpasar Covid-19 Handling Task Force, I Dewa Gede Rai said that officials have secured several road accesses such as Jalan Ahmad Yani Utara, Jalan Nangka Utara, Jalan Seroja, Jalan Trengguli Penatih, Jalan Gunung Syanghyang, Jalan Gatsu Barat, Jalan Teuku Umar, Jalan Gunung Salak, Jalan Kunti, Jalan Tohpati and Jalan Sunset Road in order to restrict the city border from people from other regions during the emergency partial lockdown.

“People from outside Denpasar are required to show Covid-19 vaccination cards, negative result from rapid antigen tests or an official working letter in order to gain access into Denpasar city during the emergency partial lockdown.” Gede Rai concluded.
