The Badung regional government has turned a shopping mall into a vaccination site to boost the Covid-19 vaccine distribution in the area.
As a support to the regional government to distribute the Covid-19 vaccine, Discovery Shopping Mall Kuta decided to turn some space inside their property into a vaccination site. The Director of Discovery Shopping Mall, Richard Karwelo said that this program started Wednesday (7/4). “As a private company, we would like to support the government’s efforts to accelerate the Covid-19 vaccination program in the Badung District.” Richard said on Saturday (10/4).
Richard also explained that he wants to help the government achieve herd immunity as soon as possible to revive the economy. Since the program started on Wednesday, many people became enthusiastic to receive the Covid vaccine because people have less fear of getting the vaccine when they enter the shopping mall, as Richard believes that people were less intimidated by the different ambience that the shopping mall has. “People are more scared to go to clinics for receiving the vaccine than in the shopping mall, so it will help them to reduce stress while receiving the vaccine.” Richard added. Discovery Shopping Mall will hold the vaccination program for 6 days over April 7th to 12th 2021 and targets over 900 people to receive the vaccine each day. “We have had an average of 700 people receive the Covid-19 vaccine since Wednesday. And I hope more people will join this program in the upcoming days.” Richard concluded.
