Bali Proposes The Central Government Reduce Quarantine Time For Travelers

The Badung Tourism Agency has proposed the central government reduce the quarantine period for international travelers once the border reopens.

The Head of the Badung Tourism Agency, Cokorda Raka Darmawan stated that the Badung regional government through the Tourism Agency proposed that the central government give some leniency on their entry requirements for international visitors once the border reopens in the near future. “I asked the central government to reduce the quarantine period from 8 days to only 2 days of isolation, as long as they’ve tested negative with a PCR test upon their arrival at the Bali Airport” Darmawan said on Monday (27/9).

Darmawan explained that a longer quarantine period might cause boredom for the international visitors. As part of the preparation stages, the central government has prepared 5 different quarantine facilities for the international visitors. “The central government has appointed 5 different hotels located in Nusa Dua as quarantine facilities for the international visitors.” Darmawan added.

He also said that the international travelers will start to gain access into tourism areas once they’ve finished their quarantine period and tested negative from Covid-19 upon their arrivals. Travelers who test positive are required to start treatment at several appointed hospitals in Bali such as the Bali Mandara Hospital, Sanglah Hospital and Udayana Hospital.

“Each hotel has a maximum capacity of 200 occupants, and each traveler is mandated to comply with these requirements at their own expense.” Darmawan concluded. As the central government plans to reopen the international travel corridor in October 2021 like The Bali Sun previously reported Darmawan also claimed that Badung regional government is ready to appoint more hotels as additional quarantine facilities if they happen to reached their maximum capacity.
