The Peak Tourist Bali is Predicted to Rise Till New Year

Before Christmas and New Year 2023, air traffic at I GustiNgurah Rai International Airport in Bali is expected to increase for domestic and international flights till New year 2023.


“Peak domestic arrivals are projected for H-5 Christmas Day or 20 December 2022, announced by the General Manager of PT. Angkasa Pura I, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, Handy Heryudhitiawan.

He also added for international flights, passenger arrivals are expected to increase by up to 9.6% on Christmas D-5 and by up to 11% on D-2 New Year’s Day 2023 or 30 December 2022.


During the joint command post period from 19 December 2022 to 3 January 2023, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport is estimated to handle 827,739 domestic and international passengers during this period.
The average daily domestic passenger traffic is approximately 27,000 and international passenger traffic is approximately 24,000.

Based on data received by the parties on 12 December 2022, the airport will operate 498 additional domestic flights, along with details of 487 additional domestic flights and 11 additional international flights. “In addition to its regular scheduled flights during the consolidation post
period. I also received a request for an additional flight,” said Handy.

Bali Airport Integrated Command Post

Towards the Nataru (Christmas and New Year’s period), PT. Angkasa Pura I I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport will implement an Integrated Air Transport Post for Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023.

The Integrated Command Post period will be held for 16 days from 19 December 2022 to 3 January 2023.


The aim of implementing the Integrated Command Post is to ensure the smooth operation of airports and flights during the Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023 periods.
“We can say that I GustiNgurah Rai International Airport in terms of facilities and infrastructure such as the domestic terminal, international terminal, General Aviation Terminal, security facilities, the readiness of personnel on duty, tenant facilities, and all other airport stakeholders are very ready for the implementation of the Integrated Post period,” he said.


Although the price of plane tickets is expensive, Handy emphasized that there is no effect on the number of visits coming to Bali Island.


Also regarding the tightening due to the Covid-19 pandemic, his party admitted that they were still following the directions from the government.
