Bali Government Officials Prepare Procedures To Welcome International Tourists

The Indonesian Central government is now preparing standard operating procedures to receive international visitors when the border reopens in the near future.

Indonesia is currently on the final stage of their preparation before reopen the international travel corridor for Bali. The Deputy I of the President’s Staff, Febry Calvin Tetelepta confirmed that the preparation of the new procedures to receive international visitors involves both central and provincial governments. “We want to assure that there won’t be any more Covid-19 transmissions when our border reopens.” Febry said on Friday (7/5).

The government would like to assure that the new variants of Covid-19 from both England and South Africa will not be transmitted from the international visitors. During the coordination meeting that was attended by the International Affairs Minister, Tourism Minister, Law and Human Rights Minister, Health Minister, Communication and Information Minister, National Disaster Agency and the Provincial Government, they discussed creating a better tracking and tracing system for the visitors.

Apart from the current travel corridor arrangements that were implemented by the International Affairs Minister to allow some business and diplomatic visas to several countries such as South Korea, Singapore, China and UAE, the Law and Human Rights Minister is now preparing to allow tourist visa holders to gain entry into Bali. The Health Minister is pushing the vaccination program to reach their target before the border finally reopens through the Covid-19 Free Corridor program which the government initiated to revive the economy of areas that have been relying on the tourism sector to survive.
