Bali Authorities Tighten Up Security At The Border In Response To Fake Rapid Antigen Test Documents

The supervision at the Gilimanuk Port has been strengthened to prevent offenders from trying to use fake rapid antigen documents to try to enter the island.

The Health Coordinator of the Gilimanuk Port, Yeti Sugiarti confirmed that upon arrival all Ferry passengers are required to go through a proper screening conducted by authorities at Gilimanuk Port . “A proper screening will be conducted to all visitors in order to gain access to the island, and we will assure that all their rapid antigen documents are real by scanning the barcode if necessary.” Sugiarti said on Monday (9/8).

Sugiarti also admitted that some people have managed to get past the document screening at Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi, East Java before departing, despite showing fake documents to the officers. “People who allegedly showed fake Covid-19 test documents at Gilimanuk Port were required to get rapid antigen tests by our officers to assure that they don’t have Covid. We are aware that people are still selling fake documents near the Ketapang Port in Java.” Sugiarti added.

She also reminds visitors to get their Covid-19 tests at medical facilities who provide barcodes on their rapid antigen documents, so the authorities will be able to check its validity with ease. “We urge all clinics and other medical facilities in Java to print a barcode on each rapid antigen document, so we can scan any suspicious documents with our apps easily during the screening process.” Sugiarti concluded. This program was initiated to assure the provincial government that Gilimanuk Port is capable of preventing Covid-19 transmissions through one of the main borders of the island.
