2. Motel Mexicola
Motel Mexicola simply has to be on your fiesta hit-list when in Bali (and your partying itinerary too). Best known for its lively vibes, this place is buzzing every night of the week – just look out for the most colourful building on the block. Our fave bit about Motel Mexicola has got to be the seemingly endless list of high quality tequila (did someone say tequila tasting?). But if you’re not loving tequila, no problemo! Choose from the vibrant cocktails based with bourbon, gin or vodka, like the zingy Mexipolitan, with citrus vodka, blood orange, agave nectar and lime.

3. ShiShi
Another one for Bali’s party animals. ShiShi is an Izakaya lounge by dusk, which later turns into a wild night club. You’ll want to taste your way through the list of Asian-inspired signature cocktails, like the Shogun (arak with lemongrass, citrus and aquafaba) and Kyoto Spritz (soju, passion fruit puree, lime and sparkling wine). Top tip: turn up before things get wild and pre-game over a feast of fine Lombok oysters, pork and prawn shumai, build-your own temaki (served atop smokey dry ice) and even an Insta-worthy sushi tree for sharing and grazing with your party pals.

Few places in Bali scream fabulousness as much as this urban chic beach bar and club at W Bali – Seminyak. It’s one of the best bars in Seminyak to chill, eat and play all day long, with cool tunes and an Insta-friendly beach backdrop. Refresh from all the fun in the sun with one of the bar’s unique creations, like the Jamu Mule or Flower Mojito. 5. La Favela
Bali may have a ton of good after-dark clubs, but few are as soulful and stylish as this one. La Favela is an eclectic bar and restaurant unlike any other. Its décor counteracts its name (meaning Brazilian slum), where antique furniture lines its floors, plants seem to be (artfully) overgrown and even old bikes and a Volkswagen van round off the appearance. Oh, and you’ll spot more beautiful people than at a Victoria Secret’s casting. The parties here are legendary affairs – almost like old-school house parties with epic tunes. Three thumbs up from us!

6. Mrs Sippy
Mrs Sippy is Bali’s hip day club that brings in Seminyak’s cool crowds with its delish bites, the biggest saltwater pool we’ve ever seen, and happy hours galore beneath the tropical Bali sun. Originally from one of Sydney’s hottest suburbs, it’s everything the Sydney spot has become known for, and more. Think seaside LA with a party Miami vibe, cool Grecian touches and some of Seminyak’s best cocktails. Try the Litchi Tiki and pair it up with the Mediterranean poolside menu of olives, dips, breads, tacos, charcuterie boards and salted calamari. Yum, yum, yum (and splash!).

When it comes to the best bars in Seminyak, Desa Potato Head is your one-stop-shop for beach hangs and sunset cocktails. Head up to the Sunset Park rooftop for a panoramic view of the sparkling ocean, topped off with tropical aperitivos and laid-back party vibes. The bar’s extensive list of premium grapes is worth browsing, but if you want something unique, the Sunset Park signatures showcase Indonesia’s most delicious native ingredients. Try the Naga Martini with dragon fruit-infused East Indies gin, vermouth and lemon, or the Kalimata – jackfruit-infused arak, vodka, Archipelago liqueur, honey and citrus, topped with soursop foam.

With a sunset bar that spills right out onto the sand, Alila Seminyak is one of the most fabulous, front-row sunset seats on the island. Wander through the oh-so stylish minimalistic resort and across perfectly manicured lawns, and you’ll meet warm ocean air and designer vibes for as far as the eye can see. 9. KU DE TA
KU DE TA is Seminyak’s original beach club and a haven of beautiful people and groovy sunset vibes. This luxe beachfront venue (‘Ku’ to those in the know) remains one of Seminyak’s top sunset bars to see and be seen. Cool down with a chilled Watermelon Mint Martini poolside, or end the day on a sweet note with a Passion & Vanilla High Ball. Soak in the buzzin’ vibes while you sip and snap the afternoon away on a daybed. Top tip for all you glamour girls – make a reservation the day before so you don’t wear out those fab strappy heels (or sandals) while waiting at the bar.

10. Sling Bar
Located at the top of the spiral staircase of the famous The Plantation Grill restaurant, is Sling Bar – a glamorous Great Gatsby-esque bar serving up classy cocktails to match the scene. There are a number of hideaway nooks where you can mix and mingle in great company, and even a “Boudoir” which you can access through a secret door. Top tip: Hit up Double Six’s rooftop bar for a sunset aperitivo, before heading downstairs to The Plantation Grill for an elegant dinner. Afterwards, make your way to Sling Bar for a nightcap with a difference.

11. Akademi
Another Desa Potato Head creation, Akademi is a cocktail bar, lab and training centre for aspiring mixologists. Inspired by time-honoured local beverages (arak and jamu), it’s a unique concept of mixing up native botanicals, giving you a taste of Indonesia in root-to-flower cocktails. It’s no surprise that the menu features some of the most innovative cocktails we’ve seen on the island. Try the bar’s take on a classic Negroni, or go for the Mamarita – a tropical twist on the margarita, with orange arak, mangosteen nectar and rare bitters, served in a glass rimmed with mangosteen salt.

12. La Plancha
Welcome to the O.G. of all sunset bars – the one with the vintage Balinese brollies and those iconic technicolour beanbags. Decked in a spectrum of bright hues, this rustic Spanish beach bar and restaurant is super laid-back and unpretentious – perfect for those who like nothing better than to kick back with a colourful cocktail to match the breathtaking sunset. Tapas, tipples and killer views? Yes please, La Plancha.

13. Mama San
Anyone who’s anyone absolutely must make time for a trip to Mama San, not only for the delicious pan-Asian cuisine, but for the buzzing cocktail scene, too. The trendy restaurant from celeb “Street Food Chef” Will Meyrick serves up an impressive and vast menu of modern Asian bites done right alongside perfectly crafted cocktails. We recommend the delicate Elderflower Martini, but you can’t go wrong with any of the signatures that have been carefully designed to complement each dish. All of this, wrapped up in upscale yet intimate interiors.

14. The Shady Flamingo
An intimate cocktail den and flamboyant lounge reminiscent of Betty Hood’s own living room, The Shady Flamingo fits right in to the pizzazz of Petitenget, bringing mob style and Hollywood glamour to this glitzy address. Once you find this secret cocktail hideout, you’ll be transported back to Los Angeles in the 40s. You’ll find a chic list of Hollywood Boulevard cocktails (like the Marilyn’s Spritz that mixes Bombay gin with St. Germain liqueur), alongside a stiff list of Gangster Paradise cocktails, featuring Capone’s Negroni, Pablo’s Margarita and Bugsy’s Old Fashioned. We’ll raise a gangster-sized glass to that.
