Top Asian Restaurants In Bali
1. NOAA Asian Bistro
A Pan-Asian restaurant in central Seminyak, perfect for dinner and drinks with friends
With an address in the heart of Seminyak (right on Petitenget Street) and a gorgeous glass frontage that looks like a stylish townhouse, I always look forward to a dinner at NOAA Asian Bistro. It’s refined and elegant, but it feels relaxed and inviting – the perfect setting to tuck into its bold and soulful Pan-Asian menu.
I recommend kicking things off with a selection of starters and small plates to swap and share, like the delicate sushi rolls, handmade dumplings and (my fave) the snapper crudo, which is elevated by zesty nam jim and creamy coconut.
Then, move on to the heartier dishes for mains. There’s everything from Indonesian lamb fried rice and yellow curry barramundi, to the Wagyu MB5 – butter-poached and grilled until melt-in-your-mouth tender. It goes without saying, all of these dishes are just begging to be washed down with NOAA’s signature Asian-inspired cocktails…
Recommended dishes: Snapper Crudo, Indonesian Lamb Fried Rice, Wagyu MB5.
Local tip: Seminyak traffic peaks at dinnertime, so arrive early and stake out a spot at the bar.
Good to Know: NOAA is best enjoyed family-style, so fill your table and try it all.
Where: Jl Petitenget No. 2000X, Seminyak.

2. Mama San
A restaurant by acclaimed chef Will Meyrick, who turns Asian street food into exceptional creations.
A list of top Asian restaurants in Bali wouldn’t be complete without Mama San – a Seminyak staple by celeb chef Will Meyrick. Anyone who’s anyone knows this old-Shanghai-meets-gentleman’s-club restaurant, which has been a Bali staple for years.
I’m always impressed by the pan-Asian menu that clearly screams of the chef’s inspiration from his travels across Asia. It magically transforms into an elegant menu come nightfall. There are hand-crafted dim sums, hearty curries, and grilled meats and seafood packed full of spices, too. And that’s before I mention the upscale interiors that cater to both groups and couples, the premium wine cellar and craft cocktails served from the sleek bar.
Recommended dishes: Prawn & Pomelo Salad, Malaysian Lamb Shoulder, Chicken Betel Leaf.
Local tip: Chef Meyrick is constantly inspired by his travels through Asia. As a result, you’ll find that the menu gets an update from time to time.
Good to know: The menu is designed to share, Asian family-style.

3. Cerita Manisan
An Indonesian and South East Asian restaurant with rice field views.
At Cerita Manisan, you’ll be transported to the heart of ancient kingdoms and spice routes across the continent. This Asian restaurant is set amidst Ubud’s lush rice fields, and it’s a celebration of Indonesian and Southeast Asian cuisine. There’s the grilled salmon head marinated with flavours from Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia, or my favourite, the spicy seafood laksa. The al fresco setting is a big plus, with gorgeous views out yonder.
Recommended dishes: Caramelised Pork Belly, Seafood Laksa, Ayam Pedas Banyuwangi.
Local tip: The restaurant is located behind Pison cafe, all the way through the rice paddies.
Good to know: They’ve got both indoor and outdoor seatings. I prefer to sit indoors where it’s cool, yet I still have a view of the rice paddies out front.
Where: Jl Hanoman, Ubud
Opening Hours: Daily 11am – 11pm
4. Ginger Moon Canteen
A modern Asian canteen with Indonesian food market vibes.
Standing proudly for over a decade in the heart of Seminyak’s famous “eat street” is Ginger Moon. It’s a modern Asian restaurant that always grabs my attention with its food market vibes and enticing aromas. This canteen-style restaurant dishes up a menu brimming with flavours that celebrate the very best of Bali and beyond.
I love a zesty start of green papaya salads, before going in on the quirky Balinese babi guling stuffed in half moon-shaped steamed buns. Plus, the chicken curry with rice cake that’s the “real deal” recipe from the chef’s mother-in-law! I highly recommend pairing your meal with one of their signature cocktails for the full experience.
Recommended dishes: Babi Guling Steamed Buns, Green Papaya Salad, Chicken Curry & Rice Cake.
Local tip: Everything packs a punch of authentic flavours, deemed “Bali on a plate” over and over again.

This double-storey restaurant pays homage to Indonesia’s ingredients and flavours, with chef Meyrick’s iconic recipes. They uniquely bridge the cultural divide between Asian fine dining and home cooking. What I love is that everything is served family-style, just like how it would be for Indonesian family meals. And whatever you choose, each dish brims with authentic Indonesian flavours…

6. Billy Ho
A sophisticated Asian boteco that caters to vegan and gluten-free diets.
Another Will Meyrick must-try is Billy Ho. It’s a sophisticated Asian Boteco that’s all about share plates bursting with flavour. Start with the smoked ponzu eggplant katsu and the char-grilled belacan octopus. Then, dive into the dry-aged tuna san choy bow or the Japanese-style tempura whole fish with roast ginger and yuzu sauce. And the best bit is, whether you are vegan or gluten-free, there’s something for everyone.
Recommended dishes: Flame-Torched Salmon Tornado, Grilled Hokkaido Scallop, Japanese Saffron Risotto.
Local tip: Swing by between 12pm to 5pm for a yum cha-style bottomless lunch.

7. Galle Club
An authentic Sri Lankan and Coastal Indian dining in Ubud.
Galle Club is where Sri Lanka’s periodic charm meets tropical Bali. By day, they serve up modern breakfast and lunch dishes alongside classic Thaalis. By night, it’s all about Sri Lankan “short eats”, consisting of appetisers and bites, and hearty curries designed for sharing. The clear standouts to me were the braised lamb leg rolls and the hot butter halloumi. I finished off with innovative cocktails and a fine selection of wines – thanks to their sister wine bar, Bacari.
Recommended dishes: Hot Butter Halloumi, Short Rib Chukka, Lamb Shank Kari.
Local tip: The front porch is perfect for people-watching, with a charming view of the neighbourhood corner.

The kitchen’s wood-fired specialities are our top picks, from freshly caught market fish to pan-roasted Szechuan duck breast and Vietnamese pho. The dishes are all made with locally sourced ingredients, ensuring every bite is fresh and flavourful.

Uluwatu surfers’ favourite Asian restaurant.
Craving Asian food in Uluwatu? Head over to Asian Spoon. This chic eatery combines the rich flavours of Southeast Asia with a modern twist, offering a vibrant menu that’s as visually stunning as it is delicious. I love that Seoul grilled octopus, Shanghai short ribs and the hearty Kyoto soba ramen topped with a soy-boiled egg. The tropical, laid-back vibe of the restaurant, complete with lush greenery and stylish decor, makes it the perfect spot for a pro-surf fuel up.

Asian barbecue designed for sharing.
This might be one of the latest Southeast Asian restaurants in Canggu, but Meimei’s already created a strong rep. It slings shareable plates packed with bold and punchy flavours. Fill your table with Papuan crab opor on toast, squid satay skewers slathered in a zingy tamarind butter, and the smoked beef cheek curry. Or, go all out with 800 grams of dry-aged ribs. The cocktails? They’ve nailed those too. Order round-after-round of the Yuzu Pandan or the Watermelon Chili. You won’t regret it.

12. Longtime
A buzzing restaurant serving up Asian food with a twist.
Longtime is Canggu’s modern Asian restaurant with a playful blend of mid-century glamour and Asian flavours. We’re talking shiitake potstickers with truffle mirin, creamy burrata with house-made roti, and spicy chilled Szechuan noodles with “Strange Flavor” sauce. And let’s not forget the equally innovative cocktails. The Love You Later Martini with green mango is my top pick, closely followed by the Saints of Sanchez, with a neat kick of Korean gochujang.
